Zurado Systems today announced the PXT Portal, software that transforms smartphones into programmable transponders for communicating all sorts of personal and professional information upon request. PXT--which stands for "please explain that"--is a proximity-based technology that provides smartphone users complete control over the type of information they receive. Unlike other proximity-based systems that push unsolicited content to mobile phones, the PXT Portal delivers information only upon the user's request, precisely when and exactly what they request.

Zurado Systems has announced a field trial of PXT, a new communication
technology that enables people to get on-the-spot information
about all kinds of things in their immediate surroundings.
PXT® - for please explain that - is a system consisting
of two components: a programmable transponder that is embedded
in or placed nearby any object of interest, and probe software
designed initially for smartphones running the Windows
Mobile operating system.

| Zurado will
kick-off the PXT® Main Street Field Trial in Pleasanton,
CA in July 2007. The trial will beta test the PXT® Transponder
and the PXT® Probe software in several top establishments,
all on Main Street, Pleasanton. Hometown GMAC Real Estate,
Fontina Ristorante, Studio 7 Fine Arts, MD Spa, Towne Center
Books, Blondie’s Shoes & Accessories, and the Museum
on Main Street will be participating in the trial. |
